Ask Denise: Client Appreciation Event and Videos

Denise Lones

Q: Denise, I am having a client appreciation event at the ballpark in a few weeks (Go Mariners!) and I was inspired by your video blog a few weeks ago. Do you think I could use a system like BombBomb to make videos that will get people excited about my event?

A: Yes yes and yes!! A series of videos would definitely do the trick here. I would still recommend you send out a print invitation, create an event link somewhere online (such as on Facebook, EventBrite, etc) that houses the event information and allows people to RSVP, but incorporating video would be an amazing addition!

I would adjust your communication plan as follows:

  1. Save the Date – Send out your Save the Date cards and follow up with a video introducing the event
  2. Invitations – Send out the invitations via mail, email (with a link to the event) and include a video in the email. You may even show photos of last year’s event!
  3. RSVP reminders – This doesn’t include a video, but I would give each person a call to get their RSVP if they haven’t yet done so and a reminder if they did and said yes. If they RSVPed no, then they don’t need a call.
  4. Reminder five days beforehand – Send out last-minute details such as information on parking, arrival times, etc. Include both written instructions and your video can be quick and it just shows that you are excited for the event and excited to see them.

I am excited to hear about your event and VERY excited to see how adding video helped communication. Good job!
