Design Spotlight: Michelle Ruston

This week’s design spotlight features MASTERY agent Michelle Ruston and her boutique brokerage Ruston Properties, in Baton Rouge Louisiana. Michelle started working in real estate at the age of 19 and fell in love with the industry. Baton Rouge was hit with disastrous flooding in August 2016, destroying thousands of homes and businesses and resulting in a national state of emergency. Fortunately, the office of Ruston Properties was spared. Prior to the flood, Michelle was focused on independently running an international investment business. Michelle’s branding goals were to provide a strong, consistent brand image to her business as she aims to reach her goals.

She wanted to develop a brand that would appeal to clients internationally, as well as her local southern demographic. Michelle started her brand with her existing black and gold Ruston Properties logo, and we created a brand image to match. The classic charcoal and gold palette on an elegant, linear layout emphasizes her dedication to quality and straightforward professionalism. The modern serif font and calligraphy-script font in her name treatment merge the traditional values of Baton Rouge, paired with a sans serif font that keeps the brand clean and modern.
